Call for Papers

The Meertens Instituut cordially invites the submission of paper proposals for its symposium on names in the economy from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Contributions could cover the fields of product names, company names, brand names and other names that are of economic interest. Throughout the conference a special focus will be maintained on how names act as capital and how this affects the linguistic and cultural aspects of the names involved. We welcome paper proposals by scholars from a broad range of disciplines, including (but not limited to) economics, law, sociolinguistics, onomastics, semantics, psycholinguistics, marketing communication and cultural anthropology.

The conference program allows for both oral and poster presentations. The latter format is especially applicable for the presentation of research projects, database projects and the results of single experiments.

The conference proceedings will be published digitally on the internet and by means of printing on demand. Two printed copies will be provided to all paper givers.

The conference language is English.
