To the Meertens Institute by public transport

Train

From the direction of Schiphol take the train to Lelystad or Leeuwarden/Zwolle and get off at the train station Amsterdam RAI. Take the metro line 51, direction Central Station and get off at the metro station Overamstel.

From the direction of Amsterdam Central Station take metro line 51 to Amstelveen Westwijk and get off at metro station Overamstel.

From the direction of Utrecht either take the train to Schiphol and get off at train station Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena, from where you take metro line 50 to Isolatorweg. Or take the train to Amsterdam Central Station and get off at train station Amsterdam Amstel, from where you take metro line 51 to Amstelveen Westwijk. In both cases get off at metro station Overamstel.

Metro

The Meertens Institute is situated along metro line 51 (RAI - Amsterdam Zuid WTC - Amstelveen) and line 50 (Sloterdijk - Amsterdam Zuid WTC - Duivendrecht), within walking distance from metro station Overamstel. From the platform take exit Joan Muyskenweg (decending the stairs) and turn right beneath the viaduct. The entrance of the building is visible behind the iron fence.

To the Meertens Institute by car

Coming from Amsterdam

Cross the Utrechtse Brug; take the first exit to your right (S 110). Drive under the bridge parallel to the A2. After 500 metres the Meertens Institute is situated on your left hand.

Coming from Amersfoort

Follow the A1 and take the exit to the Ring, A10 (east) to Den Haag. From the Ring you take exit Amstel Business Park (S 111). Keep to the right and exit the motorway. Turn right to the Joan Muyskenweg. After 500 metres the Meertens Institute is situated on your left hand.

Coming from Utrecht

Follow the A2 and keep left, direction S110 Centrum. Take exit Amstel Business Park. Exit the motorway and keep to the right to the Joan Muyskenweg. After 500 metres the Meertens Institute is situated on your left hand. 

Coming from Den Haag

From the Ringweg-Zuid (A10) take exit Amstel Business Park (S111). At the end turn left. If you see the traffic lights follow Amstel Business Park West. At the next traffic lights turn right (Omval-Centrum). Take the first left and then left again (passing the Sportlife building). Turn left, parallel to the metro line. After 300 metres the Meertens Institute is situated on your right hand. The car park becomes visible.
